the square root of three
Today’s Mother’s Day. I did not hold an extravagant celebration for my mother nor did I cook a meal for her partially due to my laziness and her constant worry of the kitchen getting messed up. In the end, I bought a pair Papillio sandals for my mom as a gift. Hope she would like it.
I think I just did something unbelievably crazy. I signed myself up with almost ten tuition agencies online in a bid to get assignments for Mathematics and Sciences. I have decided to try to get for myself two more students to earn more pocket money and also to keep my brain from degenerating. So any lobang can contact me thanks! On a side note, I am learning to use Excel almost from scratch at work with a slef-help book aka Excel Bible haha. Really hope that I would be able to create the program that my officer wants soon.
Caught the movie “Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay” a few weeks back with my ex classmates at Vivocity. The movie wasn’t really fantastic but there is this scene that the main actor recited this poem which I thought was pretty good. I finally found the poem and decided to share it with everyone here. Enjoy!

The Square Root of 3

I’m sure that I will always be
A lonely number like root three
The three is all that’s good and right,
Why must my three keep out of sight
Beneath the vicious square root sign,
I wish instead I were a nine
For nine could thwart this evil trick,
with just some quick arithmetic
I know I’ll never see the sun, as 1.7321
Such is my reality, a sad irrationality
When hark! What is this I see,
Another square root of a three
As quietly co-waltzing by,
Together now we multiply
To form a number we prefer,
Rejoicing as an integer
We break free from our mortal bonds
With the wave of magic wands
Our square root signs become unglued
Your love for me has been renewed
Digressing these are two movies that I have yet to catch but would like to do so! So any friends who are thinking of catching these two films please contact me so I would not be so lonely :P. haha.

revival!
Qing Sheng just reminded me that I have a blog on MSN Messenger just now. Hence, I decided to blog a short post to update on my life now. Currently, I am serving NS as a promotions clerk at RSAF HQ, Air Manpower Deparment (AMD). It is situated at MINDEF where all the high-flyers are. I literally see stars and crabs everywhere I go. Life has been pretty good there and I learnt some new skills by myself such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access, office politics and Situation Awareness (SA). Haha.
On to the topic of my university and scholarship applications, I am sad to say I think that I have been officially rejected from all my scholarship applications! I would probably try again next year or settled studying local at NTU (aerospace engineering course) or NUS (chemical engineering course). Friends and relatives have been pressing me to try for medicine, which I did by stupidly putting it as my second choice and got ignored altogether LOL. My senior gave me this analogy about how I can view my A level results as arcade coupons that one can exchange for a gift. Imagine one have 100 coupons he questioned why would one exchange only 20 coupons for a gift and throw away the rest. However, after much thought, I feel that I would rather exchange 20 coupons for something that I feel that I truly like then to use up all 100 for something that is more branded and expensive but not something that I yearn for. I feel like I am at crossroads now. Admittedly, I have not really decided on what my future career path would be yet. However, one thing is for sure, I would like to take up science related courses in university.
I shall end this post by posting a video of my current favourite song here for the very few readers of this dilapidated blog. It is James Blunt again with his sappy voice and emotional take on “Carry You Home”. It is his third single for the album “All The Lost Souls”. Hopefully, this song would be released as a new song next week on 987FM so I can call in to dedicate it on radio! :P
Following up is the youtube user turned star Marie Digby with the first single from her debut album “Torn”. It is a simple yet sweet song titled “Say It Again”.
